International Competition Line-Up Announced for the 3rd Koker International Short Film Festival

The official selection for the International Competition section of the 3rd Koker International Short Film Festival has been announced.

3. Koker Film Festivali İran Kısa Filmleri Berlinde poseteri

According to the festival organizers, 21 short films have been selected from 486 submissions representing 53 countries to compete in this year’s International Competition.

The selected films are:

  • Agapito — Arvin Belarmino & Kyla Romero (Philippines, France)
  • Ali — Adnan Al Rajeev (Bangladesh, Philippines)
  • Beneath Which Rivers Flow — Ali Yahya (Iraq)
  • Critical Condition — Mila Zhluktenko (Germany)
  • Dar Band (Citizen-Inmate) — Hesam Eslami (Iran)
  • Dream Now, Revolution Tomorrow — Francesco Manzato (Italy, Switzerland)
  • Final Scene — Diego Kompel (Argentina)
  • Found & Lost — Reza Rasouli (Austria)
  • Giacometti — Amirreza Mansouri (Iran)
  • Grandma Nai Who Played Favorites — Chheangkea (Cambodia, France, USA)
  • I’m Not Jean-Luc Godard — Ehsan Bamshad (Iran)
  • L’mina — Randa Maroufi (France, Morocco, Qatar)
  • Maybe in March — Mikkel Bjørn Kehlert (Denmark)
  • Pirateland — Stavros Petropoulos (Greece, France, Norway)
  • Renato’s Car — Andrea Orsenigo (Italy)
  • The Flower by the Road — Giorgi Parkosadze (Georgia, Hungary, Portugal, Belgium)
  • The Garden Sees Fire — Kiera Faber (USA)
  • No One Knows I Disappeared — Hanxiong Bo (China)
  • No Contest — Olivier Wright (France)
  • Upon Sunrise — Stefan Ivancic (Serbia, Spain, Slovenia, Croatia)
  • Bye Bye Garbage — Bahman Ark & Bahram Ark (Iran)

The jury for the Short Film Competition consists of Niki Karimi (Jury President), Damjan Kozole, Soheila Golestani, Nader Saeivar, Behrooz Karamizade, Linda Olte and Filippo Trojano.

Formerly known as the Abbas Kiarostami International Short Film Festival, the event will be held for the third time under the name Koker International Short Film Festival.

Curated by Hamed Soleimanzadeh and organized in collaboration with the Kiarostami Foundation, the festival will take place from July 1 to July 3, 2026, at Klick Kino Berlin.

The winners of the International Competition section will be announced during the festival’s closing ceremony on July 3, 2026.
