The festival will take place from July 1–3, 2026, at Klick Kino Berlin and is organized in collaboration with the Kiarostami Foundation. The event is directed by Hamed Soleimanzadeh and includes both short film and short screenplay competitions.
The festival takes its name from the village of Koker in northern Iran, where Abbas Kiarostami filmed his celebrated Koker Trilogy. Previously known as the Abbas Kiarostami International Short Film Festival, the event was rebranded as Koker to reflect the poetic and humanistic vision that shaped Kiarostami’s cinema.
By bringing together filmmakers, writers, and cinema professionals from different countries, the festival continues to support independent filmmaking and international cultural exchange.
